I Guess It Needs to Be Said

Okay, obviously a few people can't learn from other's mistakes. So, just for you retards out there who can't put two and two together - It's not a good idea to go climbing Mount Hood in the winter!

I know, those three other climbers who tried and died have nothing on you, right? They only had, what, 34 years of experience between them? Amateurs! The dumbasses stuck on the mountain now have a wonderful excuse for their stupidity, I'm sure. I mean, let's look at the pros, shall we?

* It's less crowded in the winter
* It's cold as hell
* Winds from the summit can reach about 60 - 70 mph
* Storms can form in mere seconds
* The landscape is unpredictable
* Overnight temps can reach the -20's
* Rescue attempts are more difficult

That just sounds like a perfect vacation right there, doesn't it?

Hmmmm... I have to say I'm confused with your point by point critisism** Allow me to answer:

* It's less crowded in the winter
Less people to get in the way, means faster mountain climbing. I mean would you go to Disney when its mobbed or when the crowds are low? Sheesh!

* It's cold as hell
They won't over heat!

* Winds from the summit can reach about 60 - 70 mph
Not only will the winds make them move faster by blowing them up the mountain, but they are using clean, non-polluting wind energy!

* Storms can form in mere seconds
....so

* The landscape is unpredictable
Psh! That argument is SOOOO predictable.

* Overnight temps can reach the -20's
Well if they are taking advantage of the wind power and the low crowds, they should make it to the top and back in a day!

* Rescue attempts are more difficult
Hey, if you think resuing people is more difficult, try climbing Mt.Hood!!!

** As with most things I say, this post should be recognized as sarcasm.... err except this part, really.

We should require anyone attempting to climb mountains during periods of inclement weather to sign a waiver if they run into trouble they will not be rescued. I would not want someone risking their lives so some idiot could live on to possible reproduce, dumping even more morons into our world. Social Darwinism, rocks!!!!
